Valerie Rowekamp, a Dallas blogger and socialite who was pregnant in 2011 gives some great advice on how to sleep during your 3rd trimester:
Great tips from About.com on how to sleep better during your pregnancy.
In a study reported recently by Medical Daily, a Father’s mental health condition can be linked to his children’s behavior as early as age 3. While already known to researchers the impact a pregnant mother’s stress levels can have on their babies post birth, this new research now traces the impact between a father’s psychological stress and his children.
The report goes on to to say that the Norwegian study observed 31,000 children from Norway. Researchers discovered that at week 17 or 18 during the pregnancy a percentage of the fathers reported to have mental health problems. Further analysis found that children whose fathers had high levels of psychological stress at this period were more likely to have emotional or behavioral problems as toddlers.
Even more important, the behavior problems shown by the toddlers of these fathers remained even after the researchers accounted for mother’s mental health and other factors like education and marital status that might have affected the child’s behavior.
James Paulson, an associate professor of psychology at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, said that in the past decade, researchers have found a relation between mothers’ mental health and the growing child’s mental health. The new study shows that even father’s depression during pregnancy can have adverse effects on the child’s health as postpartum depression.
