
Mothers Know Music Soothes their babies
Since women started having babies (!), expectant mothers have known that they could soothe or calm or just entertain their babies through music. Mothers have long sung soft lullabies to both the yet-to-be-born and to the young babies out of the womb.
Often the singing was also a way for the mother to relax herself as the healing power of music, long understood, worked on her as well as on the baby.

I’ve had the great pleasure of following my own daughter through the first 7 months of her pregnancy this year. She is a great researcher on her pregnancy and she shared with me not only her own ultrasound pictures, but many fascinating ultrasound videos she’d found on the internet.
